Only one discussion left: 9/24 last chance to participate

The third of our new discussions has come to a close: as you’ve probably seen on the Forum, it’s a whole new format for sharing ideas, much quicker and more rapid-fire than our first round of discussions. We all have two days in which to log on to the Forum and answer the very precise question posted there. This upcoming September 24th, our last discussion on the Person of Conscience will begin. We’d like to share the question with you ahead of time, in case you want to start preparing your response:

What initiatives should we promote in order to help educators be people of conscience? Keep in mind that educators already underwent a formation in conscience in their youth.

Our last discussion starts on Wednesday; we’ll be waiting for you!

Third New Discussion: The Competent Person

At the present moment, what do educational excellence and academic excellence mean to us?

With this, we reach the halfway mark of our new set of discussions: during the next 48 hours, we hope you make a visit to the Forum and share your ideas and intuitions on this question. We hope the participation in the third of this new round of discussions is a resounding success.

Share your ideas, and remind anyone you think might be interested that they can do so, too!

Let’s go!

As one discussion ends, another begins…

With your answers, the second of our new discussions comes to a close today. In just two days, on Saturday, September 20th, the third will begin. This time, we’ll be discussing the Competent Person, and as always, we hope to hear from you!

By the way, if you’d like to start thinking about your answer, the question this time will be:

At the present moment, what do educational excellence and academic excellence mean to us?

You know what to do: you can always go over our first discussion on the Competent Person to get ready for this third new virtual adventure.

New discussion: the Compassionate Person

What are the precise repercussions of a Jesuit school encouraging the education of compassionate individuals / individuals who exercise solidarity? What indicators can we establish?

This is the question to be answered in the second discussion of our new series, which begins today. Users have two days to sign onto the Forum and express themselves. We want to hear your answers, because by sharing ideas, we can all learn.

One down, three to go

The first of our four new discussions ends today. In two days, on September 16th, our 2nd discussion –this time, on the Compassionate Person— will begin. Go on and take a break, but just in case you want to start thinking about the next question our moderators will ask, here it is:

What are the precise repercussions of a Jesuit school encouraging the education of compassionate individuals / individuals who exercise solidarity? What indicators can we establish?

If you feel like it, you can also refresh your memory by reading the summary of our last discussion on the Compassionate Person or re-watch Peter McVerry’s video:

We hope to see you on the Forum on September 17th!

Our new discussion has begun: the Committed Person

Should we include the ecological examen proposed by the lecturer, Father Joseph Carver, in our classrooms and educational institutions? How can we do so?

This question is the beginning of the first of four new discussions that will dominate Virtual SIPEI this September. From now until Sunday morning, we hope you’ll collaborate by answering this question on our Forum, open to registered SIPEI users.

On the morning of the 14th, this first debate will come to a close; we hope this brief new format will make our discussions even more dynamic and exciting. Bring on your ideas!

Two days left… New Discussions!

On September 12th, we’ll start our New Discussion on the Committed Person. So, you can start pondering our first question:

Should we include the ecological examen proposed by the lecturer, Father Joseph Carver, in our classrooms and educational institutions? How can we do so?

Go on!

On your marks, get set…

There’s just a week left before our new discussions start. If you haven’t done it yet, grab your agenda and jot this down, so that you don’t miss any of the four opportunities you have to participate in this new adventure.

On September 12th, we’ll start our reflection on the Committed Person. It’ll only last for two days, and on the 16th it’ll be the Compassionate Person’s turn. On the 20th, it’ll be time to talk about the Competent Person, and on the 24th, we’ll start our last discussion on the Person of Conscience.

Unlike the first round of discussions we held, this time the moderator will only pose a single question, and registered users will have two days to comment and reflect on it (not registered yet? What are you waiting for?).

In order to get ready for the first of our four debates, we recommend that you take a look at the summary on the Committed Person (here).

We hope to read your answer on the Forum on the 12th!

Time for our New Discussions

We’ve set the date: on Friday, September 12nd, the first of our four new discussions will begin. Throughout the month of September, these discussions will give us the opportunity to take the subjects we talked about this spring even further. It’ll be an intense month, with the last of our preparations for the SIPEI in Manresa, and we hope you’ll join us.

With all the questions that came out of our first discussions, we feel like we could go the extra mile… Are you ready?

August 29, 2014|Uncategorized|

New discussions, new way. Are you ready for the second round?

Many of you participated in our first round of discussions from April to June on the Person of Conscience, the Competent Person, The Compassionate Person and the Committed Person. With each discussion based on a lecture and lasting for two weeks, the online Forum was the space for reflection. Now, we’re asking for your help once again: on Friday, September 12th, our second round of discussions will begin, with a new set of rules.

This time, we want to share four short discussions with you, with each only lasting two days, based on a single question. For each discussion, the moderator will pose the question to be answered, drawn from the results of our first round of discussions. We hope we can count on you to help us answer it.

On September 12th, we’ll begin with a question on the Committed Person, followed by the Compassionate Person starting on the 17th, the Competent person starting on the 25th and the Person of Conscience starting on the 25th.

It’ll be easy! Four two-day-long discussions, each with a single question. We hope to see you on the Forum starting September 12th!
